Multicultural Children’s Book Day Needs YOU

Hello all!

I know the blog has been a bit silent in the past few weeks. Between running 3 book fairs and the holidays, it has been a bit crazy. But I have been reading. Actually, we just got back from a trip to Florida and I got a TON of reading done. But I’m not going to post it yet. Rather, I’m going to get posts ready and post them in the new year.

Until then, I wanted to write a quick note about the upcoming Multicultural Children’s Book Day. Every year I participate in this amazing event and have been honored to be a co-host for the past 3 years. Due to additional sponsors late in the game, we are holding open requests for reviewers, so if you haven’t already signed up, DO IT NOW!!!

Multicultural Children’s Book Day  is getting BIGGER and gaining momentum more and more every day!  Currently, the 2019 lineup includes a ton of and impressive Medallion Level Sponsors and over 40 Author Sponsors with more being added daily. Currently, we a record-setting 681 reviewers signed up to review books on Amazon, a blog, Facebook (Pages only-no profiles), Instagram or You Tube.

Now more than ever, it is so important for kids to be able to recognize themselves in books. It is also super important for books to continue to be a window into other people’s lives and lifestyles. I have read 2 books recently that have dealt with homelessness and poverty which is something that is often not discussed until it is too late. It is also something that is hard to comprehend when you live a relatively comfortable lifestyle. Speaking of poverty, this year’s classroom empathy kit is about poverty and how it can impact anyone anywhere. If you are a teacher and would like to download the FREE classroom kit, you can do so here.

At the very least, look forward to January 25th when our link-up of great titles goes live. You can check out all of my older reviews on books with multicultural themes here.

  1. I’m signed up and have been matched with my author. I have most of her picture books here, ready to read after Christmas for reviews. I’ve been participating for all 3 years and love it.

  2. Am signed up and was surprised to received two books a few minutes ago from Random House. Hadn’t expected two books. They are beautiful. Will have to figure out how to review them.
