The Anti-Book by Raphael Simon (@isthispbosch) is a completely different book then anything I have read. Given that Simon is aka Pseudonymous Bosch, I am not so surprised by the unique storytelling. A powerful #socialemotionallearning book that kids won’t know is SEL. The ingenious concept is that Mickey is a 12 year old boy struggling with his parent’s divorce plus the normal struggles of that age. He hates everything and his favorite thing to say is get lost. But what happens when everyone and everything does disappear? Much like the Wizard of Oz, Mickey winds up in the Anti-World where his sister is 3 inches tall and his house has turned into a talking fly. Makes you think about the words you say, the way people impact you, and come face to face with your biggest fear, that you are not good enough. A powerful adventure that definitely deserves a read. This will be published in April by @penguinkids. Thank you to #netgalley for a digital review copy.
